I love both this series and the related "Recipe for Love" series, but unfortunately, I didn't like this book quite as much as the previous ones. Danny Lunden and Eva Jansen are great characters, and I like the cooking competition as the backdrop for the story, but...the development of the relationship between Danny and Eva takes place over 7-10 days. That's it. They go from slight acquaintances to true love in a very short amount of time, and they don't spend much of that time talking. The sex is steamy and awesome, but it takes more than great sex to make a relationship. *sigh*
I also didn't buy something that happened late in the book. Eva finds out information about two of the characters and uses that information to change one of the cooking show challenges in hopes fo creating drama. Other characters are outraged. I don't want to say what the she did because that involves a big spoiler, but problem is that I didn't think the change she made was really that big of a deal. I don't understand why it would have upset the characters in question because it involved something that years ago that they are clearly long past and even if the change reminded then of that, why would it create drama? I don't get it.
That said, I am definitely keeping this author on my auto-buy list. I like her writing and I like this series quite a bit.
